“I play the water. It is a record of sensation and a resonance between nature and humanity. For many years, through the medium of water, I have continued to translate invisible rhythms into experiences of sound and vision. This project transforms the natural data surrounding water into music, creating a sensory ecosystem in which the audience performs and becomes part of the orchestra.”
My work builds systems that capture the fleeting, personal sensory experiences of how humans relate to their natural environment in the present moment, and transforms them into moments of resonance.
“This project begins with the awareness that all dimensions and the flow of time resonate within water. In the exhibition space, visitors stand with multiple cube sculptures and become musicians, intuitively performing water data. Wind, the contours of coastlines, changes in water temperature, humidity, pH, and TDS are no longer mere numbers—they are transformed into living sensations through moving generative art and sound. This opens up new artistic possibilities for resonance between nature and humanity, mediated by technology.”
My projects explore how the pure physical energies of sound, color, and form can communicate in abstract ways through the interaction between environmental elements and human senses. Natural data is invisible, yet it surrounds us.
The flow of water and wind, the electrochemical activity of plants, fine particles in the air, and the heavy metal content and turbidity of rivers are collected in real time via sensors and transformed into a “natural synthesizer” installation that audiences can experience directly. These works explore the interconnectedness of nature and humanity, offering visitors the chance to personally encounter what it might mean for the environment to be “intelligent.”
By transforming these data streams into music and generative art, the audience is invited to interact with the work instinctively and viscerally.
Through the process of translating natural data into generative art, I have continuously experimented with diverse systems to evoke immersive and contemplative resonance. These experiments are designed to draw audiences into the present moment, both sensually and immediately.
The language of generative art transcends words, delivering messages to the audience more directly and instinctively.
In my work, audience participation is always essential—people are not passive observers but active participants who engage with the work through interaction.
My projects aim to create a sensory connection between myself, the audience, and the surrounding environment—right here, right now.
I am less concerned with whether the audience conceptually understands the message, and more with whether they feel they are engaging in a rich, tangible experience that can positively influence their relationship with the natural world and the physical reality around them.
